Our course is taught by a certified instructor, approved and audited by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), ensuring your training is recognized by the state and meets all licensing requirements. This interactive, college-style class is conducted in a professional office setting, providing hands-on instruction, not just videos. You’ll learn everything you need to succeed in the Arizona security industry, taught by a DPS-approved instructor.
Class Details
Upon completion, you’ll receive your Arizona DPS “Unarmed Guard License” approximately 4-8 weeks after the class.

A government-issued photo ID like a driver's license, passport, state ID card, or military ID
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident
- Must have a clean criminal record
Schedule: Friday’s from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (arrive 15 minutes early for check-in)

Disqualifiers Include:
- You are under 18 years old
- You are not a U.S. citizen or legal resident authorized for employment
- You have ever been convicted of a felony (even if your conviction was set aside, vacated, or your civil rights restored)
- You are currently under indictment for a felony
- You are currently on parole, probation, community supervision, or home arrest
- You are under an outstanding arrest warrant
- You have been adjudicated mentally incompetent or deemed a danger to yourself or others (ARS 36-540)
- You have a disability that prevents you from performing essential job functions, even with reasonable accommodations (ARS 41-1461)
- You have been convicted of acting as a security guard or private investigator without a license
Within the last five years, you have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving:
- Personal violence
- Misconduct with a deadly weapon (ARS 13-3102)
- Dishonesty or fraud
- Arson
- Theft
- Domestic violence
- Narcotics (ARS 13, Chapter 34)
- Sexual misconduct
