Arizona DPS Armed Guard License Certification – All-Inclusive Training
Unlike most training companies that hide extra costs, our 16-hour class is all-inclusive with one price! This course certifies you for an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Armed Guard License, covering everything you need to become an Armed Security Officer in Arizona.
Class Details
- Price: $250 for the 16-hour course
- Payment options: Cash, credit, debit (cash sign-ups must be done in-person, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
- What's included:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be a legal possessor (see website for more information)
- What you'll need:
- A government-issued photo ID like a driver's license, passport, state ID card, or military ID
- Notebook and pen
- DPS-issued Guard Card or Guard Card class before the training
- Approved caliber (9mm, .40, or .45.)
- Safety equipment (hearing and eye protection)
- At least 100 rounds of target ammunition (extra recommended)
- Holster or duty belt (if available)
- 2-3 ammunition magazines for your weapon

Since we are a DPS-licensed security agency, your license will be issued under our agency. That means that you won’t need to transfer your training to another company unless you choose to. You’ll receive your Arizona DPS Armed Guard License in approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on DPS processing time.
- Equipment Rentals:
- Firearms: $25 per class
- Safety equipment: $2 per class
- Ammunition (9mm, .40 cal., and .45 cal.): $20 per box
- Rentals and ammunition can be added during your purchase.
Schedule: Sundays 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Sundays include dedicated time at the shooting range to practice and enhance your skills in a hands-on, controlled environment. Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.

Disqualifiers Include:
- Conviction of a felony (even if set aside or vacated)
- Indictment for a felony
- Misdemeanor convictions within the last 5 years involving personal violence, dishonesty, or other disqualifying factors
- Active parole, probation, or an outstanding warrant
- Mental incompetence or inability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodations
- Acting as an unlicensed security guard or private investigator
